Chez le Barbier MTL | Mural
CONCEPT:
I lived in Montreal for 10 years. Chez le Barbier was my regular barber shop, in my neighborhood of Ville-Marie. The shop is very classy, mixing sophisticated neo-traditional vibes and some popular mood. This neighborhood is rock'n roll, and also hiphop... all styles are living together. I wanted to express that in my painting. Trendy and cool but classic on some details. Tattoo culture is huge in Montreal and I wanted to keep that too. The bigger challenge was to play with the architecture of the shop, creating anamorphosis with the angles in order to see the painting straight from the shop entrance. I took 2 days to finish this pieces and I used a projector by night to help... and I deserved a fresh cut after that...
